AES certified as a Sacramento Sustainable Business!
AES has been certified as a Sustainable Business by the Sacramento Sustainable Business Program (SSBP) for our in-house business practices that conserve energy and reduce both water consumption and solid waste generation. The SSBP is a non-profit program that recognizes local businesses that utilize environmentally friendly business practices. Some of the steps AES has taken to become more eco-friendly are to replace fluorescent light tubes with energy efficient T-8 bulbs, install skylights, and tint windows to reduce energy consumption. To reduce water consumption, AES uses low-flow toilets and low-flow aerators in kitchen and bathroom sinks, and irrigates landscaping during early morning hours to reduce water loss from evaporation. In addition, AES recycles paper, cardboard, and aluminum cans; sends used printer/copier toner cartridges back to the manufacturer for recycling; and has replaced disposable beverage cups, paper plates, and plastic utensils with reusable items.
